Your Backyard Is
Sitting Empty.
Let’s Change That.

Pittsburgh gives you four good months of real outdoor weather. If your yard is just grass and a cracking concrete slab, you’re letting those months slip by every single year.

Why Most Decks Fail Here

Pittsburgh’s Climate Is Punishing on Outdoor Structures

Freeze-thaw cycles underground, heavy snow loads, summer humidity that warps wood — this region exposes every shortcut a contractor takes. We see the same failures over and over:

💧

Unflashed ledger boards

No flashing means water seeps in and rots the band joist behind your siding — invisible until it’s serious

🪵

Wet lumber installed too early

Pressure-treated wood installed before it’s fully dry cups and splits — boards that should last 25 years fail in 5

Shallow footings

Footings poured too shallow shift after the first hard winter — creating a dangerous, unlevel structure

📋

No permit pulled

An unpermitted deck becomes a serious problem the moment you try to sell — buyers and inspectors will catch it

What We Build

Every Project, Built for How You Actually Live

Not templates. Not the same deck for every yard. We design around your home’s layout, your terrain, and the way your family uses outdoor space.

01

Composite Decks

Trex, TimberTech, Azek — doesn’t rot, splinter, or need annual staining. Higher upfront cost, near-zero lifetime maintenance. Build once, never think about it again.

02

Pressure-Treated Wood

Still a solid choice when budget is the priority — if it’s built properly. Right lumber grade, correct fasteners, structure designed so water never sits where it shouldn’t.

03

Concrete & Paver Patios

Stamped concrete gives you the look of stone at a lower cost. Natural stone and paver patios are repairable piece by piece. Both need proper base work for Pittsburgh’s clay soil.

04

Multi-Level Decks

Pittsburgh yards don’t come flat. Multi-level builds work with your yard’s grade instead of against it — and often look far better on a Pittsburgh home than one big flat platform.

05

Pergolas & Covered Structures

An uncovered deck is hard to use on a sunny afternoon and useless in Pittsburgh’s summer rain showers. A pergola extends the hours your space is actually enjoyable.

Our Process

One Team. Start to Finish.

01- Free in-home consultation

We come to your property, assess the grade and access conditions, look at any existing structure, and talk through what you want to build.

02- Custom design for your yard

A layout built around your specific property and lifestyle — not a template. You see exactly what’s being built before anything gets started.

03- Permits & approvals — all on us

We handle every application for your municipality. You don’t need to know which office to call. Permit timelines are factored in from day one.

04- Written estimate — every cost

Materials, labor, permit fees — all of it in writing before work begins. No vague ranges, no line items that appear mid-project.

05- Construction done right

Footings first, to the correct depth. Then structure, decking, railings, stairs. Regular updates throughout — you’re never left guessing.

06-Final walkthrough with you

We go through every detail before we call the job done. If something isn’t right, we make it right.

What Pittsburgh Homeowners Need to Know Before Building

A single-level deck typically takes 1 to 2 weeks for construction once permits are approved. Permit review in Allegheny County usually runs 1 to 3 weeks — we start that process early so it doesn’t delay your build.

Both work when built correctly. Composite holds up better through Pittsburgh’s freeze-thaw cycles and needs no maintenance. Pressure-treated wood costs less upfront but needs periodic upkeep. For most Pittsburgh homeowners who want to build once and be done, composite is the better long-term answer.

Sometimes if the framing and footings are still sound. We assess the existing structure honestly before recommending resurfacing vs. a full rebuild. We’ve seen both situations and we’ll tell you straight which one you’re in.

Spring through fall. Concrete footings can’t be poured in frozen ground, which rules out most of December through February. If you want your deck ready for summer, reach out in late winter design and permits can happen during cold months so construction starts as soon as weather allows.

Yes. Outdoor living space is something Pittsburgh buyers actively look for. A well-built, permitted deck is a genuine selling point. An old, unpermitted, or unsafe deck can actually hurt your sale.
